So You Want to Volunteer?

Volunteering with the Errington Fire Department can be an incredible way to give back to your community. You need more than just a desire to help people; You also need courage and dedication, assertiveness and a willingness to face new challenges. Our service is one of which calls on its members to perform hot, sweaty, dirty, strenuous work often in uncertain and hazardous environments. We take members from the age of 16-19 for our Junior Firefighter Program and members from 19-to all ages for our regular program. We have many roles to fill. So if you have always wanted to be part of the Fire Department but didn’t think you could because of your age or ability to fight fires you still can join. We need class 3 drivers to drive our trucks. We need Support staff to help out around fire grounds and the stations. So if you ever wanted to be part of a Fire Department please hand in an application and we will do the best we can to put you in the right position to suit you.

We also guarantee that your time spent volunteering with us will be one of the most rewarding experiences you’ve ever had. We very frequently hear our volunteers say, “Why didn’t I do this sooner?” Errington’s volunteers are invited to our family barbecues and outings, and we always try to work with members’ schedules as much as we possibly can. With a fitness center, off-duty insurance and compensation put in place for your time spent volunteering with us, the Errington Volunteer Fire Department is a team you’ll be proud to be a part of! We are now taking applications for the next recruit class. Stop by and pick up an application at Station #1 at 960 Errington Rd or print one off from our website. Deadline for applications to be in is September 7, 2018. Check our Facebook page, our website, and the Info Board out front of Station # 1 for more info.
